Upstrim: Training managers to make the tourism sector viable

UPSTRIM offers a modular training programme for upper and middle management that aims at enabling trainees to adapt to future challenges in the Egyptian Hospitality sector. Core of the programme is the dedictaion of experienced managers in their last years of their professional career to act as mentors for UPSTRIM’s trainees.  Together with their mentors, the trainees plan their individual career path and set-up a customised training programme that adapts to their needs.

The venture builds upon the business model that UPSTRIM offers its training programme to hotels.

The first training cycle in Hurghada with 18 trainees was successfully concluded shortly before the COVID-19 pendamic stroke Egypt and especially the country’s tourism sector. An analysis of the trainees’ satisfaction and learning improvements was executed, and the team is confident that UPSTRIM can play an important role in rebuilding the hospitality sector now. TUI invested 33.750 € in Upstrim.
