Understand

Disability affects 16% of Jordanians aged 5 and above, according to 2023 data from the Department of Statistics. While Jordan has made significant progress in advancing the rights and inclusion of persons with disabilities, many barriers remain. Challenges include negative social attitudes, inaccessible information, buildings, and services, limited inclusive products, inadequate transportation, and a lack of assistive technologies. The private sector rarely offers products or services that support independent living for persons with disabilities. Such solutions could greatly enhance their quality of life and enable full participation in society.

Ideate Solutions

The lot 24 innovation sprint took place in Amman, 18th to 31st of May.

In total, 29 companies participated in the program.
Local partners included Orange, while German companies were involved both as active team members - co-developing new solutions in joint ventures - and as supporting partners, providing feedback and now contributing to further development during the incubation phase.

The process resulted in four concrete solutions - four joint ventures - two of which are currently in the final stage: preparing for market entry during the incubation phase.

Incubate business

What is the incubation phase:

The participating teams enter the incubation phase to refine, test and ultimately pilot their business model in the target market. Typically, the incubation phase takes about 3-4 months and encompasses coaching for the teams by Business Design experts and might also include additional in-kind support. The incubation phase closes with a pitch in front of investors.

The incubation of lot24 will be conducted from June 2025.
