This challenge is in phase: Incubate business
While some European countries have long-established systems for collecting and utilizing biodegradable waste, this value chain is still in development in the region.
This represents a significant opportunity for businesses. In the region olive-, chicken or fish farms produce significant amounts of well separated biodegradable waste (see "understand" section for indicative figures). At the same time these and other businesses as well as households have and increasing and unsatisfied need for energy, animal feed or organic fertilizer. Additionally governments and businesses are pushing towards higher sustainability standards in need of reducing the amounts of waste going to landfills as well as a clean and healthy environment in a region that is becoming a tourism hotspot.

It supports businesses in grasping market potentials by bringing together a group of select companies and experts with all needed capacities to swiftly address the market. It provides direct access to your customers to supporting partners from the public and private space, especially political decision makers.
